NFL Europa, Week 1

In case you missed it ...

Frankfurt Galaxy 30, Amsterdam Admirals 13. In a rematch of World Bowl XIV, Chicago Bears-allocated quarterback J.T. O' Sullivan hit 17 of 23 passes for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead Frankfurt to another win over Amsterdam. With over 38,000 on hand at Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena, the Galaxy dominated through the air and on the ground. Backup running back Anthony Sherrell had 110 yards on 17 carries. For Amsterdam, Ravens-allocated quarterback Drew Olson was 22-35 for 260 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Cologne Centurions 24, Hamburg Sea Devils 18. Derrick Ross rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown as Cologne (1-0) knocked off the Sea Devils (0-1) in front of over 20,000 fans at AOL Arena in Hamburg. Cologne controlled the clock, forced three interceptions, and got a solid performance from Quinton Porter (9-13 for 109 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) in the team's two-headed quarterback attack. Meanwhile, Hamburg missed an extra point, and its two touted running backs, Quentin Griffin and Tony Hollings, ran for only 39 yards and 35 yards, respectively. Pearl native Justin Jenkins had three catches for 34 yards for the Sea Devils, and McKinley Boykin had four tackles for the Centurions.

Berlin Thunder 15, Rhein Fire 3. Two 4-point field goals of over 50 yards from A. Jacas a 61-yard touchdown run from QB Travis Lulay, and a stifling defense was enough for last year's cellar-dwelling Thunder to get a 15-3 road victory over Rhein in front of 30,355 at the LTU Arena in Dusseldorf. Lulay, a quarterback from Big Sky country, compeleted 22 of 32 passes for 189 yards and led the team in rushing with 72 yards on six carries. Rhein got little production from running backs Gerald Riggs Jr. and T. Henderson or from quarterbacks Cody Pickett and Bobby Elliott. Rhein WR P.K. Sam had a 3 catches for 42 yards, including a 30 yarder
