Raiders Sign Josh Booty
When people encouraged the Oakland Raiders to acquire the quarterback from LSU, I don't think this was who they had in mind.

Rotoworld.com is reporting that the Oakland Raiders today signed Josh Booty, a former major league baseball player, NFL third-stringer, and Shreveport icon.

The 31-year-old Booty lasted played in the NFL in 2003. It's assumed Booty is getting this opportunity partly because of his connection to new Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin, who coached Josh's younger brother John David at Southern Cal.

It's unclear whether the Raiders will target middle brother Abram Booty to provide depth at the wide receiver position.

These coaches have watched Necessary Roughness and The Replacements a few too many times, tricking themselves into believing that once great players whose potential was never utilized still possess that talent. Or maybe Al Davis just wanted a guy on his franchise who'd once been married to one of The Price is Right girls.

Nonetheless, we'd love to see Josh Booty succeed. One, it'd be a great comeback story. Two, Booty's return provides fodder on LittleBlog. And three, Booty could spare those of us who root for the Raiders another year with Andrew Walter behind center.
