Nearly a decade a squandering a few million dollars to sign Super Bowl hero Larry Brown, the Oakland Raiders have again decided to overpay a Super Bowl standout, inking Colts reserve running back Dominic Rhodes to a two-year deal worth up to $7.5 million.
The NFL Network reports league insiders believe Dominic Rhodes, who signed with Oakland on Friday, may be suspended four games in 2007.
In other news on NFL running backs, the New York Giants acquired Reuben Droughns from the Browns in exchange for Tim Carter in the most insignificant trade of this offseason. Droughns will backup Brandon Jacobs and possibly a running back to be acquired later.
